The Chicamocha Canyon is becoming one of the top sport climbing destinations in Colombia. At Macaguato, you are within a five minute walk of over 40 sport climbs, many of which are multi-pitches, on the layered sandstone of the Chicamocha. The ideal climate of the area along with the shade and rain protection provided by the canyon means you can climb nearly every day of the year.
Due to the nature of the rock, it is required to wear a climbing helmet at all times within proximity of the crag. Please ask us if you need to rent a helmet.
There is an voluntary contribution of 10,000 COP per person for park entrance. These funds go directly to the development and maintenance of trails and routes in the park.
